The overarching theme of this edition of the Broad Institute's annual report focusses on the drive to accelerate research and discovery while working to bring an end to life-threatening diseases such as cancer, ALS and Alzheimer's. The Eli and Edythe L. Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard (often referred to as the Broad Institute), is a biomedical and genomic research center located in Cambridge, MA. The institute is independently governed and supported as a nonprofit research organization and is partners with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, and the five Harvard teaching hospitals forming an informal collaborative network among young scientists interested in genomic approaches to cancer and human genetics.
